Unity3d Environmental Series Course

I have just whizzed through and completed the Unity 3D environment series course, but using the new Unity 5. I did come across a few problems, especially with adding trees into the scene. This is mainly due to me using the new Unity as having looked into this issue online I wasn't the first to come across it in Unity 5.

Here was what happened when trying to add trees onto my terrain. Loads of little black dots replacing where the tree was meant to be.
